Frequently Asked Questions
What is Prism?
Prism is total compliance management! Prism is a web-based compliance monitoring and reporting system. Prism facilitates compliance monitoring by providing an easy way for prime and subcontractors to submit periodic invoices/reports to compliance monitoring officials. Jurisdiction can use the information provided by prime and subcontractors to produce compliance reports and act more proactively on compliance issues. Prism also serves as an excellent way to provide training and workshops to contractors and other compliance officials. Prisms workshops are on-line papers, and tutorials for targeted audience.
Is Prism an application or web portal?
Prism is both. Prism is an application that runs on the web. This gives compliance officials and contractors 24/7 access. Because Prism performs outreach, education, and reporting in addition to compliance tracking, many consider Prism a portal.
Where is my Data? Is it secure?
Prism data is encrypted and stored in relational databases. The ASP performs routine backups on the databases. Prism runs as a secured web application. Physically Prism and its data are housed in a secured facility with limited and guarded access. Prism consultants can assist you in downloading some or all of your data. However, Prism Reports gives most users all the views they need of their data.
What are Prism Reports?
Prism Reports are a multitude of compliance reports generated by Prism. Prism offers many standard reports which you can export as PDF files, Crystal Reports, Word documents and several other popular formats. Compliance officials can contact Prism consultants for custom reports. All Prism reports are accessible over the web.
What is an ASP?
ASP stands for Application Service Provider. An ASP hosts application at their facilities so that organizations do not need to invest in software and hardware infrastructure to maintain an application. This often cuts the total cost of ownership by up to seventy-five percent (75%). Prism is offered using an ASP model. This means all you and your users need is access to the Internet. Prism is maintained by the ASP.

Along with reporting, Prism can send automated emails to vendors and compliance officials when contracts are awarded and when payments are recorded. These emails ask the recipient to verify the information that was entered into the Prism database. Through this process, Compliance Officials can learn immediately if there is a problem.
